12. Guidelines for Hanging and Storing Paintings, Prints, and Paperworks
- Ensure the hanging system is appropriate for the weight and size of the artwork. Use sturdy hooks, screws, and plugs that can support the weight, considering the type of surface (wall) where the work will be hung.
- Do not hang artworks in direct sunlight, as this can lead to fading and material degradation. For extra protection, UV-protective glass or acrylic can be used.
- Be careful when opening the packaging of your order. Do not use knives or scissors to remove protective film from your print or canvas, as this may cause damage to the print or canvas itself.
- A rolled print needs some time to become flat again. With the right care, you can easily do this. Gently unroll the print, place protective paper over it, and put a flat, clean, and dry plate or book on top. Do this on a flat and clean table or any other clean and stable surface. Let the print rest for 24 hours, then you can hang it up or frame it.
